Distribution and Collection Systems Manager

The Orange Water and Sewer Authority (OWASA), is a progressive water utility providing water, wastewater and reclaimed water services to the Towns of Chapel Hill and Carrboro and to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. OWASA seeks a safety minded, proven leader to direct the overall operations, maintenance and repair of the water distribution, sewer collection and reclaimed water systems. The Distribution and Collection Systems Manager provides vision and direction to a staff of 45 employees.

Position requires a bachelor’s degree with seven to nine years of management experience in a water and wastewater utility. Candidates must be able to obtain required certifications from the North Carolina Water Facility Operators Certification Board and the North Carolina Pollution Control System Operators Certification Commission. Licensed North Carolina Professional Engineer preferred but not required. Position requires a Valid NC Driver’s License.

Salary range: $82,864 - $127,612

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
